Diagnostic Assessment by Education Caddy
Full diagnostic assessment
This assessment will fully investigate an individual’s cognitive and attainment profiles. A report based on the findings of these assessments will be produced, which will include school and home recommendations to enable progress, and a diagnostic decision where appropriate. Parent and pupil and/or school consultation can also be arranged following the assessment. Please note that the tests used and scope of the assessment is dependent upon the age individual being assessed:
- Pre-16: Conclusions can be made regarding the presence of dyslexia. Reports will be accompanied by relevant referral letters should the presence of other SpLD’s be indicated during the assessment process.
- Post-16: Conclusions can be made regarding the presence of dyslexia and DCD/dyspraxia, and profiles that strongly indicate the presence of ADHD.
Full diagnostic assessment plus access arrangements
Access arrangements are reasonable adjustments that are made for pupils in the context of external examinations. Examples include extra time, use of a reader and use of a scribe. Access arrangements are facilitated in-line with the published JCQ criteria. Assessment data is one requirement for such arrangements to be applied for and these (along with relevant recommendations) comprise part of the written report following a full diagnostic assessment (as detailed above), where appropriate. The relevant sections of the required paperwork must be completed by the Specialist Assessor in liaison with the pupil’s school/college.
Please note that any facilitation of access arrangements is the responsibility of the pupil’s school/college.
Disabled students’ allowance assessment
You may be eligible to apply for a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) if your report diagnoses a specific learning difficulty. Diagnostic reports produced by Education Caddy can be used to support such applications.
